Scholarships
Hey Bruce,
QUESTION: I’m just wondering what is the scholarship process for 2023. Your words of wisdom would be appreciated.
Cheers, ☘Jerry
ANSWER: All information about the workings of the program is handled by the Army Aviation Association of America (Quad-A). We have deposited a certain amount of money with them already and they administer the plan. The administration part is a bit complicated and they do a grand job of keeping it organized.
Over the years Quad-A has refined the scholarship process and there is a bit of work for the applicant in order to become qualified to apply so it is important to begin early - like now for next year.
There is one requirement that seems to become a question and that is membership in the Quad-A. Someone in the applicants family chain must be a member of the Quad-A.
The other requirement that that person be a member for one year is waived for Otter Caribou Assn members. (Sometimes that needs to be mentioned to the Quad-A office)
In that regard I have found that by calling the Quad-A office they are very helpful in answering questions about the application process.
There is a lot of information on their web site about Timelines and Deadlines - so that is the place to begin.
Hope this helps - go for it and good luck.
All the best
